FAQ

  • What is the difference between Ready to Ship and Made to Order?

Ready to Ship pieces are pieces that I currently have done and in stock, I can ship them out to you generally within 1-2 business days from when you place the order! Made to Order pieces are pieces I have made in the past that have sold out so I don’t currently have any made. When you place the order I will start working on making the piece you ordered and get it out to you as soon as possible! They generally ship within a week from the purchase date. I also offer free color alterations on some Made to Order pieces if you want something in a different color!

  • What is the Seasonal Page?

The Seasonal page has all of my pieces that are only available for a limited time during the year!

  • Where do you get your glass patterns?

I make and design all of my glass patterns myself!

  • How much do you charge for a custom piece?

I don’t have a set price for custom pieces. It depends on the size/shape, and the complexity of the design. Send me an email with your idea and we can discuss all the details!

  • How long does a custom commission take?

The time it takes to complete a custom piece depends on the size and complexity of the piece, and if I have all the glass needed in stock. If not I have to place a glass order which can add a couple weeks to the final time. It also depends on how many custom commissions I currently have. I make all commissions in the order that I receive them. Generally though I am able to complete a custom piece within a week of starting the piece. I can definitely give you an estimated time when you first inquire about the piece!

  • I really like a custom piece I saw in the Custom section, can you make another one?

I only ever make a custom piece once. Unless the same client commissions it again, I can’t remake the piece. This is because I want custom pieces to be truly one of a kind! However, I can make a new piece with a similar subject/style for you! Send me an email and we’ll get everything worked out!

  • Why are the prices so different from piece to piece?

I price my pieces based on the cost of material and the overall time it takes to complete! The more complex a piece is, the longer it takes to finish so the more expensive it will be. Larger pieces are generally more expensive too because they use a lot more material!

  • How do you get different colored solder lines?

Patina! A patina is a layer that forms on metals that changes the appearance of the metal. Patina’s can occur naturally, like how the statue of liberty has turned green over time, or you can use certain chemicals to get the desired look! For solder there are two different colors of patina, copper and my personal favorite black. Once you apply the chemical to the solder it rapidly develops the patina, giving either a copper or black color depending on which one you used. Then once you clean the piece it’s completely safe to touch and the solder has a new look!
